UMass SGA

Hey! My name is Garrett Gowen, Orchard Hill Senator and Chair of the Finance Committee. I am a Junior History and Political Science double major, with a German minor.

My vision for the year revolves around improving relations between the SGA and students on campus, specifically through my work as Chair of the Finance Committee. I want to support RSOs beyond giving them emergency funds, and help discover ways to more fairly allocate budgets so that groups can fund their priorities, achieve their goals, and feel more comfortable in dealing with the SGA.

I enjoy Meryl Streep movies, reading anything from the news to history books, and spending time with my friends. I am a Peer Mentor in Webster Hall, as well as a member of the Republican Club and the Orchard Hill Area Government.

I hold office hours on Mondays from 2:30 – 3:30 in 420 Student Union. If you know a group that needs emergency funding, or you’re just looking to chat, stop on by!
