UMass SGA

Renée Barouxis ’14 is a political science major, pursuing minors in history and women, gender & sexuality studies and certificates in international relations and public policy. Renée represented Central in Senate and served on the State and Federal Organizing Committee and chaired an event-planning select committee as a sophomore. As a junior, she was appointed Secretary of Public Relations and selected as Homecoming Queen. As Secretary of University Policy, she seeks to continue her efforts to promote a more affordable, a more sustainable, and a more community-engaged UMass Amherst. She will also continue her work with the SGA Women’s Mentoring Program. Outside of SGA, she works for the Commonwealth Honors College and serves as a member of Amherst Town Meeting. In her free time, Renée likes to hike, go on bike rides, and answer “U!” chants with “MASS!” at sports games.
