UMass SGA

I’m Josh and I’m the Secretary of Veteran’s Affairs and am an English major. Before UMass, I was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was afforded the opportunity to travel the world and experience several different cultures. After I completed my active duty service time, I became very interested in traveling to every possible place I can and I enjoy planning where I’ll go next. I really enjoy several sports and hobbies such as ice hockey and cooking.

I’m proud to hold this position in the SGA because it means I can help out the veterans on campus as well as the students. Not a lot of veterans are properly educated about pursuing a college education when they are relieved of active duty service and sometimes even just coming back to civilian life can cause a little culture shock. So my mission is to try my best to make all of them feel as at home here at UMass as possible and show them every possible opportunity that’s available to them.
