Jarred Rose

Jarred Rose is a senior political science major with a minor in history. He was born and raised in Acushnet, MA and graduated from New Bedford High School.

A musician since fourth grade, Jarred joined the UMass Minuteman Marching Band upon entering UMass and was a proud resident of Webster Hall in Orchard Hill. The following year, Jarred sadly left the Marching Band to pursue an election for Student Senate in Orchard Hill his sophomore year. This fall will mark the beginning of this third year in Student Government serving as a Senator from Orchard Hill, as a Special Assistant to the SGA President, a Senator from Southwest, and now as Speaker of the Senate. Over the course of this time Jarred worked on many different projects both with student staff but also with high level administrators to better the student’s experience.

Outside of SGA, Jarred worked for Housing for 2 and a half years, first as a cluster office staff member and most recently as an RA in JQA. He is also employed at the Financial Aid office and is a member of the International Relations Club and the University Democrats. In his free time, Jarred loves to travel, read, hang out with friends, and find new ways to enjoy life.
