Hey Everyone! My name is Jen Healy, I’m the Student Trustee this year. I grew up in Bellingham, MA, where I played and coached soccer for the majority of my life. When I’m home, I work on an ice cream truck and as a counselor at a youth soccer camp. Here on campus, I’m a junior Political Science major, pursuing certificates in International Relations, Public Policy and Administration, and Civic Engagement and Public Service. I am a member of the Citizen Scholars Program and, since this past Spring Semester, have been the Core Team Leader for the Access and Affordability Core Team at the Center for Education Policy and Advocacy. In this role, I helped to organize events like Lobby Day and worked to hold the University accountable to its mission of providing an “affordable and accessible education of high quality.”
While the role of Student Trustee encompasses many different things, I see myself mostly as a vehicle for student voice to be heard on the State level. I hope to use the experience I have gained at CEPA and as a student on this campus to make sure that decisions being made by the University really do put students first. In order to do this I want to make the Student Trustee role as accessible to the student body as possible, so please feel free to contact me with ideas, suggestions, concerns, etc. I’m really excited for this year!
